Almost Heaven Pinnacle 4-Person Barrel Sauna Review

Verdict: the Pinnacle is the sensible default 4-person barrel. It has a mainstream 6 kW Harvia heater on an easy 30 A circuit, western red cedar, a limited lifetime warranty on the room, and enough dealers that you can shop price ($5,303–$6,060 in our check). It shares every barrel's limits: low headroom, a cool floor, and bands that need attention in the first year. This is a research-based review compiled from the manufacturer, dealers and owner reports; we haven't used one ourselves.

What we like (from the specs and owner reports)
- Easy electrical: 30 A is the smallest circuit any of the barrels we cover needs, which keeps wiring cost and panel space down.
- Room for four, or one lying down: 64-in benches on both sides.
- Long room warranty: limited lifetime vs 1 year at Redwood Outdoors.
- Price competition: four sellers within about $750 of each other means you can shop.
- DIY-friendly: Select says two people can generally assemble it in six hours or less with a cordless drill.
What owners complain about
Summarized from r/Sauna threads collected by Heat & Plunge (paraphrased, not verified by us):
- Bands and leaks: one Almost Heaven owner says the bands don't work as intended and let air leak. Almost Heaven's FAQ says bands may need tightening, or filler staves added, "usually within the first few months."
- Headroom and bench height: about 69 in tall at the center inside, so most adults can't stand, and barrel benches sit below the hottest air. Some owners raise the benches; others call the complaint overblown.
- Cold floor: common to all barrels; feet up on the bench is the usual fix.
- Winter heat-up: owners report about 45 minutes in winter and up to 90 on the coldest days for barrels generally.
Total installed cost
Kit $5,303 (lowest found) + 30 A circuit ($500–$2,700 typical) + pad ($26 DIY gravel to $2,500 concrete) + permits ($50–$350) ≈ $5,900–$10,900, before optional pro assembly (Almost Heaven advertises from $1,400). Run your own numbers.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Buy it if you're 2–4 people, want the simplest wiring and a long warranty, and are happy sitting rather than standing. Look elsewhere if you want two-level benches or headroom (see Redwood's Extra-Wide), more seats for the money (Redwood's 6-person at $5,549), or the lowest possible price (Costco and Sam's Club barrels in our buyer's guide).
Frequently asked questions
How much is the Almost Heaven Pinnacle?
On October 18–19, 2026 we found $5,303 at Select Saunas, $5,804 at My Sauna World, $6,002 at The Sauna Place, and $6,060 on almostheaven.com for the base configuration (glass door, no window, 6 kW KIP heater with dials; regular $7,575). Window, heater and door options add cost.
What electrical does the Pinnacle need?
A dedicated 240V, 30 A hardwired circuit for the standard 6 kW Harvia KIP60B heater, plus 110V/15 A for the plug-in light, per Select Saunas' spec sheet.
How long does the Pinnacle take to heat?
Select Saunas says under 45 minutes, with temperatures reaching 190°F and beyond. Harvia's KIP manual expects 170°F in 45–60 minutes and says cold weather adds time. Heat & Plunge's model estimates about 66 minutes to 175°F on a 9°F January night.
Is the Pinnacle the same as the Costco Morgan?
Owner threads often treat them as close relatives (both 4-person Almost Heaven barrels), but Costco's lineup and names change and older names like the Morgan no longer have live product pages. Compare the interior dimensions and heater on the specific listing.
